Online Crime Mapping

To provide the community with a better understanding of when and where crimes are occurring, the Culver City Police Department has recently added the feature of online crime mapping through the Lexis Nexis Group.

The Culver City Police Department provides up to date crime data to ensure that all reported crimes are accurately displayed on the website for public viewing. The crime data is put through a comprehensive analyzation process that works to locate each crime incident geographically, to a hundred block.

Upon accessing the community crime mapping website, users can "filter" crimes reported from the Culver City Police Department by address, date range, and type of crimes reported. Once the specific search “filters” are selected and entered, icons will appear on the map to show where crimes occurred. The user can click on the icon that appears on the map to gather further information on what type of crime occurred, the date and time of occurrence, and the associated report number.
